Album Notes

After their successful stints in Honolulu and mainland States with the legendary rock group Red Fox, Rene and Dennis Garcia came home because they were bent on widening their musical horizons. They believed that there was much undiscovered talent which could be turned into overnight sensations besides the vast opportunities in the recording business. One thing was clear, they wanted to look for fresh talent, put it together to comprise a supergroup and start recording and make hits. So the auditioning of new members started- so many candidates but only a few could be chosen.
Weeks later came their premier concert at the Plaza –“Ang Galing” –and well attended and HOTDOG’s first major stint was a fitting debut to the music scene. It was the night after their performance that the brothers Garcia came up with a new song entitled “Ikaw ang Miss Universe ng buhay ko”. It was then presented to Mr. Ronnie Villar , executive record producer. He immediately offered a recording contract with Hotdog and the final recording took place at the Villar Studio. On the average it takes about three weeks for a song to be released in the market after recording it. But with “Ikaw ang Miss Universe”,
The impact was different. Barely a week after radio stations played it, almost all record outlets were flooded with orders for this song and so it was rush released.
