Album Notes

THE BAND:
Housebeautiful is a five-member Canadian band consisting of lead vocalist Angela Mercer, keyboardist/pianist/vocalist Elizabeth Chung, bassist/vocalist Al Hamilton, guitarist Peter Jafelice, and drummer JP Smithyman. They are all accomplished in their craft, and together bring a fresh and unique rock sound to the original songs they write and perform.

THE MUSIC:
Musically, we attempt to explore honest moments within ourselves, in context to our faith in God and the effects of life's complications and elations. Music is its own language that gives way to universal connection. We hope that as people identify with different feelings and emotions in our music, they will take a step back and evaluate their own life in the context of where it is that they fit in this world. Explore the mystery that is God, explore purpose... explore a deeper part of themselves.

THE ALBUM:
The album is set in a literary-esque tale of an unidentified Soul, journeying through the experience that is life — first recognizing a void within self... the search for an unknown Divine... discovery, change, struggle... and though the album ends unresolved, there are identifiable moments of peace presented within the chaos of the Soul's life; because that is the reality of living a life in awareness and connection with God: crises come and hope can falter... but God is stronger. And will always see us through.
