Album Notes

The current incarnation of the New York City based rock band TheHousePets was born in the Fall of 2001, when singer/guitarist Schwartzer and drummer Derek Landel recruited seasoned NY session-men Fredi Meli on bass and Jeff Gillard on keyboards and harmony vocals. The two newest members added their distinct energy and creativity to the tight, powerful unit that has amassed a large indie following by rocking the walls of clubs and colleges throughout the Northeast, particularly at such NYC venues as The Lion's Den, The Elbow Room, Wetlands, The Bitter End, and CBGB. Lyricist Matt Kaplan, who left his mark on the New York rock scene along with Schwartzer and Landel in the now defunkt group Jonas Grumby, continues to co-write songs with Schwartzer. These collaborations, along with Schwartzer's solo songwriting, yield an eclectic batch of bright and edgy pop/rock songs.
