Thanks for stumbling upon my page here, however that may have happened!
I've been writing music for a long time, but it's only been a few years since I started performing it. This EP marks the work of some wonderful musicians I worked with while in college. Due to long distance issues, I am no longer with them. However, these songs mark the excellent musicianship we shared together.
My music has the pop rock sounds of Alanis Morissette to the biting darkness of PJ Harvey and Nine Inch Nails. I love all types of music, so alot of what comes out in my own music is based on what I've been listening to and admiring for so many years.
My tentative plan is to head to New York City in the fall and try as hard as possible to make it there. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, and this EP is my first step in the door. So, thanks for listening and supporting. Hope you enjoy what you hear!
The musicians are as follows:
Howard Louis - vocals, keyboards
Matt "Fat-Fat" Martin - guitar
Brendan McGeehan - keyboards, bass (on "Wutami2do")
Tim Wolfe - bass (on "Perfect Model" and "Everything Is")
Mike Kudrak - bass (on "Calling All Compatible")
Carl Bahner - drums
Songs were recorded at the state of the art recording studios at Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pennsylvania. They were produced and mixed by Chris Stever and myself (although Chris did most of the work!) and mastered by Brendan McGeehan.
And now, for some information about these songs:
CALLING ALL COMPATIBLE: With dates and new friends, I hate that initial discussion about what types of qualities and characteristics we look for in someone. Now, I can tell them to go listen to this song and come back if they are still interested.
PERFECT MODEL: In some of my past relationships, I always put the other person before me. I did that so intensely that I ended up treating myself like sh*t. I was convinced that I had to be perfect for someone else. Fortunately, I slapped myself silly for that and eventually wrote this song about it.
EVERYTHING IS: I restrained myself as long as possible to not write a political song, but I had to. When a country is as chaotic and disarrayed as the US is under the Bush administration, you can't really help but write a song about it if you're a songwriter.
WUTAMI2DO: This song is ficticious and was written from the viewpoints of several prostitutes. I wanted to dive inside the minds of street walkers because I am fascinated with their lives and how they go about choosing this lifestyle, if it is even a choice for some. I would have loved to interview some of them to really grasp the concept, but I figured that writing a song might be an easier method.

Fresh, thrilling, funky and provoking
author: Bace
Judging by the material on this EP this dude should do good! All of the songs have a "live" feel, changing between open and closed soundscapes filled with jamming guitars, funky beats and overall very strong vocals from Mr Luis. "Calling All Compatible" could easily be a big hit with it's catchy hooks, while my personal favourite "Wutami2do", is a little jazzed-up masterpiece on it's own. The lyrics are all very interesting, from various point of views and changing between various moods and atmospheres. I could go on for ages but to sum it up: If you're looking for something fresh, funky, heartfelt and simply great: Buy Howard Luis' EP. Right away. ;)

This CD is amazing!!!
author: Justin R
This CD is brilliant for many reasons, the most of which being for its diversity of style. From the sweet harmonies of Perfect Model, to the somewhat chilling Everything Is, to the driving beat of Calling All Compatible, the different sounds Howard has created are beautiful and striking. And lyrically speaking, he has spun an insightful web of musical genius through Wutami2do, as well as through the politically charged Everything Is. With these four tracks, there is so much to experience, and I recommend this CD to anyone who is looking for something exciting and new.
