When I first decided to record Bopliography I wanted to capture the feeling of a period of jazz of which I am most fond;the hard or post bop era.The most interesting aspect of this period is the energy that the musicians put forth, and at the same time staying enough in control as to create beautiful solos spontaneously. This cd certainly captures that. An interesting aspect of this cd is that all of the musicians have very different styles compared to each other. This gives the cd a more vivid palette of colors as well as being extremely interesting to listen to.The songs are all original, and extremely lyrical.This cd is interesting not only to the advanced listener, but also to the begining listener and everyone in between.
