ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
So who is Howlin' Bob?

Howlin' Bob is in an elite class of guitar players. Bob hails from outside the Chicago area where he grew up and learned from influences like Jimi Hendrix, Dickey Betts, Duane Allman, Roy Buchanan, Jeff Beck and Michael Bloomfield. Bob has played with the Coasters, and jammed with Double Trouble, Greg Allman and Dickey Betts. The Howlin' Bob Band most recently opened a show for the Marshall Tucker Band as well as The Georgia Satellites.

Bob's first CD titled "TURN UP THE GUITAR!" shows off his outstanding playing. The blues and southern rock influences are evident along with a dash of New Orleans, soul, and jazz. What Howlin' Bob is not is another "me too" type of sound.

Playing drums on the CD is Lenny Balistreri, a veteran drummer who has backed up some of the world's finest guitar players, gigging with Barney Kessel and Herb Ellis.

Bass on the album was by Pedro Arevalo, who currently tours with Dickie Betts.

Check out the samples to "TURN UP THE GUITAR" and you will be able to tell immediately that this talent is something fresh and uplifting.

That's who Howlin' Bob is. What he has to say is on the CD. Again, listen to "TURN UP THE GUITAR!", you'll be glad you did.

Fantastic CD!
This is a great CD full of energy and great playing. The sound is fantastic and flows really well. I also recommend Tom Saputo's "Blue City" CD. Thanks Howlin' Bob!

Great CD Bob - you're my hero!
Just listened to TURN UP THE GUITAR! and enjoyed all the different styles represented on it. What you folks from far away places don't know is that Howlin' Bob is a master trickster and when you see him live he'll be playing along and just burning up the frets and right in the middle of it he'll reach over the top of the neck and start playing the same amazing licks over-hand! That same spontanious sense of fun and musical wit come through nicely of this CD.
