Album Notes

GALLYGOWS - "GIVE IT TO HER"
Gallygows have touched heaven with their latest work "Give it to her". Pop's heaven, that Olympus reserved for those artists with a special sensitivity to combine chords, beats and harmonies and make something truly touching, unique and special.
"Give it to her" is the result of the mixture of the songwriter talents of Alex Loscos (The Libs, Parkinson d.c.), Eduardo Hernandez (Parkinson d.c.) and Alberto Hernandez (Eduardo's little brother) along with the music skills of Roger Rodes and Felix Vives. This five boys switch instruments and do four parts harmonies with scary naturalness, but the most impressive of their work together are their enormous SONGS.
From "My Citizen", cryptic title for a dreamy track that brings you to a dense world of synthesizers and beautiful harmonies, to the sweet love declaration that is "Goalkeeper", Gallygows touch all the keys looking for the perfect song and indeed they succeed!!!: "Tone Generator", "Burning at the stake", "All about you" and "My Citizen" are four songs that can rank along with the best.
A little bit of history.........
....... Alberto and Felix met at high school and although they didn't like each other, realized the next logical step was to form a band. Since they were only a guitarist and a drummer, they decided to enlist an old friend to join them as bass player. Plans worked out quite well and that made things easier, but that was not the end of it, they needed another member. They thought The Beatles, Big Star, Jeff Buckley, The Beach Boys, and Sebadoh were all four-member bands and that was why and how Alberto persuaded his brother Eduardo to play the guitar in the band. One day one of them decided they would be called Gallygows forever more.
After their first album 'Into the dessert ice', exhausted and tired, they decided to take a break, or as they like to call it, an internal restructuring period. To make matters worse, their bass player left the group and Gallygows took on board a friend of a friend of a friend called Alex...even though they knew he was devoted to Prince and Michael Jackson.
This folks, is how the band formed.
"Give it to her" has been released in Spain, Japan, UK, USA and it's just about to be released in Germany, France and Australia. The band has successfully played the most important festivals in Spain (Benicassim, BAM, Festimad, etc..), has toured with some of their heroes (The Posies, Pernice Brothers, etc..) and has been invited to play at CMJ in New York in 2001, at Alan McGee's club in London (Radio 4) and it's planning a Japanese tour for the beginning of 2002.
