Album Notes

The Hub Kings’ sound is a vibe-a-delic tapestry ranging in influences from bebop jazz and swanky lounge to the contemporary sounds of artists like Medeski, Martin, and Wood and The Greyboy Allstars.

\"The Hub Kings...improvisational flow...map[s] out new territory\" - Phil Rainone, Pop Vulture

Taking cues from keyboard masters such as Jimmy Smith and Robert Walter, the Hub Kings generate a sound centered around the lush, smokey tone of the Hammond organ, as played by multi-instrumentalist Jonathan Tristram. Complimenting and accompanying him are Rob Jones on the semi-hollow body guitar and the very capable, very funky, \"Hollywood\" Ben Chapman on alto, tenor and soprano saxes. Drums and percussion are provided by \"Bongo\" Dave Smela.
