Stereo Types is the second release for The Humbugs. Following their first EP, "Hey That's My Bike", the band enjoyed taking time to work with producers Brad Cassetto (The Melvins, Katastrophy Wife, Girls Against Boys) and Dave Russ (2001 Best Sound Engineer, Minnesota Music Awards) to polish a full length CD. Recording in their hometown of Minneapolis, MN, the band expanded their guitars, bass, and drums setup by adding Hammond organ, chamberlind, resonator bells and french horn to the mix. These touches, plus their signature multi layered vocals makes Stereo Types their most ambitious record to date. The Humbugs influences come from the classics: The Beatles, The Hollies; the more recent: Elvis Costello, Neil Finn, Amiee Mann, Travis; to the more obscure: The Trashcan Sinatras, and Prefab Sprout.
Currently, Stereo Types is in rotation at over 100 college radio stations nationwide and was listed in David Bash's (Amplifier Magazine) top 100 releases of 2002.
The Humbugs are currently performing and touring in support of Stereo Types throughout 2003; including two showcases at International Pop Overthrow: NYC and Chicago.
