notes
The Hunger began simply enough. Like any other band, there was a garage, a few friends and some heroes: Ministry, Front 242, and The Cure. Little did the kids know that these casual gatherings would grow into a passion that would consume their rest of their lives. The seeds of creativity and self expression would quickly begin to blossom into songs and the songs demanded to be heard. Two 12" singles later and virtually overnight, The Hunger had made their first mark on the world: sold-out copies, Billboard charting and a record deal. This first taste of success through their own efforts would become their creed; that which drives The Hunger to rise above without surrender.
With the release of LEAVE ME ALONE, their first full length CD, The Hunger got their first taste of independent labels and of the dangers of putting something as precious as a dream into the hands of other people. Though the label was history at almost the same time as the release, they continued to move forward in their career by garnering airplay, Billboard charting and sales. However, the most significant result of all these successes would turn out to be the group's introduction to their next passion- live performance.
The music of The Hunger had found its soulmate...performance. Not just regular ol' performance mind you, but fiery, frenzied, passionate and, most of all, intense performance. The kind of performance that comes at you off the stage like of tidal wave of power, knocking off your feet and leaving you gasping for air. The Hunger created, by way of their all-or-nothing ideology, a complete show that would stand out in the minds of the crowd. Not just settling for great songs and amazing performances, the band took it a step further by incorporating stage props, back drops, pyrotechnics, custom hardware, intelligent lighting and the very best in sound equipment as a standards for their performances. The Hunger brought this infectious show to fans throughout the region again and again. They quickly became favorites with sold-out shows creating a fan base that was loyal and...hungry. This set the stage for the next step, another CD.
Fueled by their growing success, The Hunger self-released their second CD, GRIP, on their own label, Gut Records. The fans ate it up to the tune of 15,000 units - an amazing feat for an independent label with no experience or budget. They pulled off another almost unheard of feat by getting several songs from the CD added to over a dozen radio stations in the south. Offers came in from other small labels but the band passed, opting to continue to do things themselves.
Now a seasoned contender, The Hunger went into the ring for round three. Just as they were preparing to self-release DEVIL THUMBS A RIDE, Universal Records president, Doug Morris caught wind of what was happening and quickly swooped in. The day after he received a tape of the music, he made an offer. The band realized that signing to a major record label was inevitable if they ever wanted to make the next jump upward. Their Universal release launched them into the national spotlight with a single, "Vanishing Cream", that would climb to the #4 position on the rock charts. It would also afford the band the exposure of touring the entire country for the first time. They opted to visit each city at least twice.
Next came CINEMATIC SUPERTHUG, their 4th CD, which met with great critical acclaim. The Hunger was now well on their way. They once again took to the road, reconnecting with legions of fans and taking their music and the explosive energy of their live shows from coast to coast. They played to audiences ranging from 15 to 15,000 people, both headlining and supporting a range of artists from Deftones to Foo Fighters to Creed.
With a solid history and unwavering dedication, The Hunger's aural assault continued with their fifth release, SPACEMAN'S LAST GOODBYE. Bringing together a wide variety of influences and styles to create a unified, experimental sound, they had once again created a collection of songs that crossover and blend these styles into something unique. Refusing to pay heed to the rules of any particular genre of music, The Hunger has synthesized a signature sound that one can only attempt to label. The push of passion and pull of life experience can be heard throughout the music. From the harmonizing of brothers, vocalists and synthesists Jeff and Thomas Wilson, to the shredding guitars of Stephen Bogle, to the stout rhythms and techno beats of Max Schuldberg, this band fires on all cylinders. Cylinders that power an engine of intense songs that are melodic yet aggressive and are fueled by insightful, soulful lyrics. A combination that delivers an unbridled ride that is finally harnessed and smoothed out by way of pristine production. A sound described by many as familiar yet unique and sometimes called electro-nu metal.
A well-seasoned band with a national reputation of tireless promotion, great shows and an unrelenting commitment to follow where their hearts and heads lead them, THE HUNGER is now poised to assault the future with their sixth album, FINDING WHO WE ARE!

great
author: ChrisAwesome CD. The music is just very different from anything out there and sounds awesome. The Hunger continue to evolve their sound while still keeping the basics that have made them one of the best Texas rock bands around. CD Baby service was great. Received the CD in a very timely manner. Definitely one of the best online music services.
Cool!!! (per Will Gilchrist)
author: The Gilchrist FamilyWe are lucky enough to know The Hunger, and we support them 100 %!!!
The Hunger is the best "unknown" band out there
author: Mike Pawinski Chicagomike Metallica MikeClean production, low and high notes are sonic clear, midrange not high. Lyrics and vocals are perfect, songs overall I give it a 90% rating. It still doesn't match my favorite Devil Thumbs a Ride but change is good, and this is good change. Hunger Evolution!
looking for divel thums a ride war old one out bros
author: jeff sanders "aka" snap drumer of traptgreat show at the scout bar mor day weekend bros
Hungry for more!
author: William HartWith possibly their most introspective album yet, The Hunger manage to rope in yet another flavor of music to their repertoire. With instant classics such as For A Change and So Lost, the album gives a generally kinder but just as powerful view of the Hunger's skill. This album feels fun and energetic tracks like Starlight and Wake Up keep the pace from reaching that "too slow" mark. Not as good as Devil Thumb's but ten times better than Superthug.
Just what I had hoped for
author: NateI was going through my old cds and found Devil Thumbs a Ride, and went to look at what they had done since. I ordered the new cd, and I am really happy with the result. I like it quite a lot.
I was very surprised!
author: M.D. GraceThe cd is great!! If you like past Hunger cds (except "spaceman's last goodbye" ) then i would suggest this one ..
I love this CD
author: JennyThe Hunger are totally awesome! Where can I see them in person!
Outstanding album
author: Dan Moeller - USAFAnother solid, well recorded and well written work from The Hunger. Like Grip, Devil Thumbs a Ride, and Cinematic Superthug (I'm still trying to get a copy of Spaceman's Last Goodbye), it has The Hunger's usual sound, but at the same time sounds more evolved and grown up. Beyond 5 stars.
Damn The Man!
author: JaredI love the fact that The Hunger doesn't feel that they need to turn their heavy music into pop (like everyone else has done) because that it what society would prefer. Fuck society! I'm all about straying away from the expectations of society. Music from bands such as The Hunger help me to fulfill the need that digs at me every time I hear another pop song that is at #1 on the charts and sounds the exact same as the previous week's. I've got your #1 right here!!!
awesome
author: SaeedPlease come out to Los Angeles!!!!!
Awesome, Kick Ass and Totally fresh new cd....
author: Paul RogersNew cd is really awesome! Songs 1-4 and song 7 are my favorites, I listen to those songs all the time. The whole CD in general is totally kick ass and bitchin. The Hunger never stops amazing me with their talent and ability to tear the stage up where ever they tour and make awesome new music for their fans. I give this album two thumbs up!!Way up!!! Keep kicking ass and tearing shit up! You guys rule!!!!
Solid effort here, a good cd
author: Jim TurnerA good cd to be honest I dont feel they have reached the energy and excitiement they kicked out on Devil thumbs a ride and cinematic superthug I would say though this is the best effort since those 2 albums. Lots of strong songs and killer vocals. There is no huge standout track like "free" that could explode on radio, but the album as a whole is really good. I found out about these guys driving down A1A in Daytona years ago on a trip. I have lots of friends up here in Canada into these guys now. Great band & Totally underrated.
The Hunger will feed your need for great music!
author: Galvestoner420I've been a fan of this band since their breakout CD Devil Thumbs A Ride. After being hooked, I collected their previous releases, and realized how great these guys are. With each CD, they have evolved a little, getting better every step of the way. Now this, their sixth release, they are on the top of their game. From the opening track to the hidden track, this CD doesn't disappoint.

This the best cd the hunger has put out yet... I love every song and have played it over and over again. Highly recommend to anyone not sure of buying it...
One of a kind
author: LarsThe Hunger shows off their great harmony vocals, heavy techno-rock sound, and great lyrics once again. The only thing better than this CD is their live show. These guys may be too awesome for the rest of the world. I found out who these guys were many years ago. Thank God !
Still amazing!
author: BrandonI have been a fan of The Hunger for many years, and follow them still as much as I can. Althought the last time I saw in concert was on the Cinematic Superthug tour in Michigan, I still believe that this band is truly original and amazing. I loved the Spaceman cd, and now, this one continues right where that one left off. Simply put, if you have ever liked this band, you'll like this cd. If you aren't a fan, wake up and feel The Hunger!
I Love This CD
author: princesslului've been a fan of the hunger for many years and followed their career. this CD is hands down the best music they have produced yet. Hands Down! They have chosen to not follow trends and put out music that is distinctly their own. AWESOME! I LOVE IT!
Absolutely brilliant
author: William gromframeThis CD is the compilation of everything the hunger has been trying to do in the past 5 albums all rolled into one!! This cd is very emotionally driven. Most albums that have so much passion and feeling in them are usually dark, gloomy, not usually up beat. This is not the case with "finding who we are". As the Cd kicks off with "so lost", you can tell by the first track that its going to be an awesome adventure of energetic tempos, thrashing guitar riffs, and powerful harmonies that the wilson brothers are known for. All I can say is read the lyrics, listen, and enjoy!! This is definetely the ultimate hunger expierience!! For all of you who wondered where they went.....they were right here the whole time perfecting this sound that took many years for them to complete. There is absolutely nothing negative to say about this album. Any A&R guy that has this album run across his desk better listen to it, and listen to it quick because this is going to be an industry race for who gets to sign the hunger. Buy this album!!!!!! Its unbelieveable! Ten thumbs up!!!
Kickin Ass As Usual!
author: Melinda ADamn I love this CD! "So Lost" is freakin awesome! Can't wait to see them in concert again!
The album makes for a profound and dynamic sound.
author: Stephen S.Throughout the years, The Hunger has continued to refine their sound and reach out for more. With this latest release, Finding Who We Are, The Hunger proves that they want nothing less than to be on top, and I must say that they certainly deserve it based off of this effort. The album consisting of the experience of years in the industry and just pure musical ability makes for a profound and dynamic sound. Singer and songwriter Jeff Wilson really out does himself in his performance. The passion expressed through his lyrics and musicality is simply astonishing. Not to mention, the added genius of co-front man, and brother, Thomas Wilson and guitarist and producer Steven Bogle makes for a lethal combination. Also, drummer Giovanni Capelo more than takes command of his role with a style and flair that produces drum tracks second to few. Bassist Darren Nelson finishes off the group with his mastered ability to lay down bass licks that just leave a person in awe. Anyone can tell just by listening to the album that these guys more than have their act together. With all of the overplayed and clichéd music out there in the industry today, Finding Who We Are is really the breath of fresh air that is needed. There are influences and certain themes that can be heard throughout the record, but there is nothing out there that sounds quite like this.
