Album Notes

The Hunt Club is a fun party band in the Chicago area - rock, funk and dance. We mix it up. Our songs feature the respected lead guitar work of Tony Hunt and the notorious drumming and off-the-wall antics of brother Steve Hunt - hence the band name. At live shows, we're known to go from mellow acoustic rock to heavy metal and over to funky dance tunes all within one set - noahmsayin?! We get the people movin' and booties groovin'!

This CD Naked Without Shame displays a nice variety of well-crafted songs. We've got rock songs like Drums and Guitars (featuring guitar talkbox) and the humorous and catchy I'm Not Gay. There's heavier rock songs like the powerful 3 Minutes featuring fierce guitar work and awesome drumming. Get Naked With You is a fun R&B flavored dance tune. Big Butt is one of the funniest rap songs you'll ever hear - this song never fails to get the folks out there on the floor shakin' what they got. Listen to the samples just to get a feel for the variety and quality of songs on this disk.

Also featured in the band are Hollywood Wagner on bass and Saxman Gregg on sax and synth sax. TREE (aka Mike Hunt) is our soundman and manager and general utility-man. Both TREE and Hollywood worked on the original artwork for the Naked disk.

In 2003, The Hunt Club recorded a single (A Father, A Son, A Soldier) as a tribute to a fallen soldier from their native Illinois - Shawn Pahnke. Hundreds of copies have been sold to benefit Shawn's son Dean. Tragically, Dean was born shortly after Shawn left for Iraq - Shawn died before he had a chance to hold his son in his arms. To order this CD, see The Hunt Club website - all proceeds go to the fund set up for Dean.

So....The Hunt Club is notorious for having a good time, but they also have a serious side. If you are ever in the suburbs of Chicago, try to catch them live.

Some very original rock songs - drums and guitars!

I guarantee there'll be at least a song or two on here that you like. They give you such a wide variety. My favorites are 3 Minutes - heavy guitars but very melodic. I'm Not Gay is not only funny, but the music is just excellent. The title song is strong both musically and lyrically - unique guitar work on this one. I love seeing this band live, but this CD gives me a whole new level of respect for the boys.

I saw this band live on a river and lake cruise in Chicago. This band has some excellent original songs as you can hear on this disk, but live they play covers by bands like U2 and Mellencamp and they are awesome. They will "sneak" in originals in their sets as well. We cruised out on lake Michigan and around 9 at nite or so the fireworks started going off over the lake - the guitar player went into a righteous version of Star Spangled Banner that would've made Jimi himself proud. These guys are a blast to party with - get the disk but better yet catch the live show.
