Album Notes

Imaginary Gallery is the creation of a young man named TeEjAy (aka Todd Johnson) who was brought up in the Midwest on Blondie, Depeche Mode, New Order, and the Human League. His father is a pathologist, his mother a nurse. Ever since he was a child, TeEjAy has held a fascination of music, and has been writing, recording and producing the rhythms and melodies that have been living in his head for over 20 years. With 10+ years of classic training in drum, piano, keyboard and music orchestration under his belt, he has sculpted, polished and channeled his creative energy into his latest offering: Silence as Acceptance.

The music of Imaginary Gallery transports the listener from a dull, mundane, existence inhabited by an overabundance of sad musical clones into a colorful dream world reminiscent of the 1980s underground music scene, when clove cigarette smoke filled the room androgynous figures dressed in black--complete with Robert Smith/Siouxsie Sioux-styled tresses, black hair/white face/raccoon painted eyes and pointed witch boots--swiveled their hips on the strobe-lit dancefloor.

Imaginary Gallery puts the fun back into music. Over the course of its 12 tracks, Silence as Acceptance thoroughly entertains the listener with memorable and sometimes haunting tales of fear, love, betrayal, sex, death, longing, and celebration of what we humans refer to as life. The music fuses TeEjAy\'s wide range of layered vocals in perfect harmony with rich, dramatic soundscapes drenched in dynamic texture and rhythm.

Sit back and relax while the music of Imaginary Gallery takes you on a wild and crazy adventure, with tunes that lift, caress, tease, swallow and then spit you out--leaving you in a state of not quite knowing what just happened--but ready to do it all over again.

I could not believe my ears when I first started to listen to this CD. Totally professional and far exceeding my wildest expectations. I am so impressed with the artist's song writing ability and the melodies and lyrics he has used to compose what has become an important piece of my musical collection. I especially love "U PEOPLE" AND "UNDERSTANDING NOW" . I am looking forward to his next CD and hope he does not keep us waiting too long!!!!!!!! I wore out my first copy and had to get a second one.
