Hurricane Dave and his wife followed their hearts to Alaska from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in 2008. The songs on this album are culled from observations about life in a quirky yet lovable place, a land of great beauty, majesty and occasional bizarre behavior. Many collections have been recorded about what it's like to live off the land and work in the wilds of Alaska, but we think this is the first compilation of compositions written through the wide eyes of a rank newcomer to the 49th state. Hurricane Dave not only sees the humor of day-to-day life in Alaska, but he also appreciates the spectacular environment and the "We're-all-in-this-together-so-we've-got-to-help-each-other-however-we-can" attitude of the people of the Last Frontier. The songs also include some spectacular musicianship from premier guitarists Josh Noland and Fred Miller, legendary pedal steel wizard Stu Schulman and smokin' fiddler Keith Junot. Produced by Josh Noland and Hurricane Dave, "The Cheechako Chronicles" is a must-have not only for every Alaska resident but for anyone who has ever experienced the wonder of The Great Land.
