ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Sign of the Times
My political menagerie. Same animals, but the zoo keeps changing.

Jesse James
Maybe you know the story. Just when you think maybe you've got it worked out, in your gut you know that a past mistake will bring you down.

Angels
If there were angels, what could they possibly think? Could we stand the shame?

Area Code 911
Written in Northern Virginia in 2002, after a casual comment from Sam Bush about 9/11, the D.C. Sniper and paranoia in our nation's capital. Started out funny, ended up creepy.

A Lot to Learn
Written in anger after 9/11. Then I realized this is what all victims of brutality feel, righteous anger and a burning desire for justice.

A Heart of Fire
For a long time I thought this was too personal to record. Maybe it was.

The Reckoning
When things go so wrong, we look for a pattern, some way to make sense of the of loss and grief, some way to connect cataclysm to reason.

Still Raining
Sometimes it rains inside, deep inside.
