"The Sea King" is the second full-length release from North Carolina instrumental group Husky. Largely culled from spontaneous first takes, "The Sea King" captures the trio coming into it's own as dynamic writers and arrangers. Not only riding a steady blues rock riff or fluidly jamming as on "Circle the Wagons," Husky exhibits more diversified influences such as Sonic Youth, Ladytron, The Doors, and even Stereolab and Mazzy Star. From the charging pace of "Flagship" to the sleepy sinking feeling what washes over the disc's closer "Leeward and Easy," the bands signature sprawling compositions on "The Sea King" weather as many moods as the vessel to which it pays tribute in the album's liner notes.
"The Sea King" was released April 4, 2008.

excellent instrumental rock album -- each track paints a picture. This is a must for fans of instrumental work that feature melodic then messy then dreamy guitar sounds.
