another original Kathy CD--a "speed" review
author: Ian Schneider
I've already had the pleasure of reviewing Kathy Hussey's debut If Wishes Were Horses. I gave a conventional review of this outstanding artist, who, I am almost guaranteeing, will be on AOL Sessions within two years. How she hasn't gone "big" yet, hearing her talent, is surely a decision Kathy must have made. Kathy has talent like Jewel, Tori Amos, Natalie Merchant, Melissa Ethridge--the "women" rockers who can rock and also be women; just as some of my favorites are, as the above listd, men--Sting, Bruce, Paul Simon. They can rock and be men too.
Here's a "review" based on the tempos of the songs--I am going to list each song, the precise tempo at which I calibrated it (I got the artist's permission to do this! It is a bit intrusive--Kathy, yes, will respond when you contact her on her site), and then list a few other songs by artists you might know at the precisely same speed--who knows--maybe you can have some fun using Kathy's CD in your mixes--I've never done this before, so forgive the brazenness--and *thank you Kathy* for allowing me to do this!
