Album Notes

Alberta Crude, Tim’s second full length CD captures the essence of Alberta and the Rocky Mountain West. From rodeo cowboys to gold seekers and gun fighters, from oil riggers, vintage tractors, and wildfires to the Discovery Well – this is a tip of the hat to the centennial: 100 years of Alberta.

Alberta Crude was released by Saved By Radio Records and received extensive airplay and a very positive response throughout Canada. Tim received the honour of representing the province of Alberta and performing the songs he had written at the prestigious Smithsonian Folklife Festival in Washington, D.C. The title song was included on a compilation album released by the Smithsonian Institute entitled ‘Wild Roses, Northern Lights’

"He may well be the ultimate in Canadiana songwriters"
Allison Brock - Canadian Cowboy Country Magazine

“Tim Hus is well on his way to becoming an Albertan and Canadian institution."
Barry Hammond - Penguin Eggs Magazine

Tim’s awesome. He’s one of my favorite Canadian songwriters. Nobody captures the rough-and-ready frontier imagery better than him.”
Corb Lund - CCMA and Juno award winning singer/songwriter

“Canada needs more singers like Tim Hus”
Stompin’ Tom Connors – Legendary Canadian singer/songwriter

“Tim is rapidly becoming the new musical Messiah of the working man and the college crowd, with his roots style tunes about everyday life and events in Canada”

ALBERTA CRUDE CD REVIEW
author: VANCOUVER PROVINCE

Calgary’s Tim Hus is the welcome antithesis of all those airbrushed Nashville stars, a guy who was born with a toothpick in his mouth and dirt under his nails. Whether he’s singing about the 18-point elk rack above the door in “Hotel & Saloon,” driving a Freightliner down the Yellowhead in “Longest Stretch of Road” or the vintage tractor that “smells like a john and runs like a deer” in Dangerous Dave’s Tractor Show,” he’s all-Canadian and authentic as beer breath on a Sunday morning. Cross Corb Lund with Stompin’ Tom and you’ve got Hus in your sights. He’s very good. Rating 4/5 -John P. McLAUGHLIN
