A Berklee School of Music Allumnus, and Grambling Tiger Marching Band member who has recorded and played with Gold and Grammy Awarded bands. (Instant Funk, Look So Fine CD, Sun Ra, Celestial Roads CD, and the Trammps, road touring saxophonist.) EARCANDY is the latest project of saxophonist HUTCH JONES! A sound that is “Hot and Cool”, “Smooth tones” and “An easy groove to listen to…” describe the saxophone artistry of HUTCH JONES! The soulful “Tell Me What’s On your Mind” and the cover of “Love Makes A Woman” make you want to relax, take off your shoes and pat your feet! The groves of “Dance”, “Samba Azul”, and “Tropical Nights” make you want to tap your feet and groove! “He Lives” a tribute to Sun Ra, shows deep roots….Take a minute to listen ,enjoy and indulge yourself in a smooth treat!

Born Paul “Hutch” Jones in Trenton, New Jersey, music has always been his passion! He was a member of Grambling College Marching and Jazz Bands and continued his study of music and composition at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Mass. After living on the East Coast and in New Orleans for many years, Hutch joined the California music community. He now lives in the Bay Area.

Hutch has toured the United States, Europe and Canada extensively. His credits include playing at the “Newport Jazz Festival”, “New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival”, and other venues such as the Village Gate, the Copa Cabanna, Smalls Paradise “Home of the Stars”, Club Harlem, One Step Down, Blues Alley and the Lincoln Center. Playing and recording with such legends as “Sun Ra and his Arkestra”, the Grammy Award winning soul and disco group “The Trammps”, Instant Funk and with the present first tenor of the Temptations , the Philly/Jersey sound of Kool and the Gangs current Trumpeter and Trombone man and the Love Committee, to name a few!
