Between my last solo piano CD and this keyboard/synth album, I lived in Sweden for some years and worked on musical projects for myself and others.
While in Sweden, I began composing for this album and at the same time developed a love for Swedish folk songs, which inspired "folkdance."
I included an intro to another tune, "what remains," by my good friend and a fellow musician/composer, Tom Johansson.
I carry an imprint of the eclectic mix of music I listened to and performed while growing up, which included classical, jazz, fusion, rock and even heavymetal. I have a special admiration for the music of Allan Holdsworth, and there's a bit of his inspiration in the tune, "solocity."
This CDR was extremely fun to make because I allowed myself to compose and perform in any and all musical styles that I felt I needed to express myself in.
Because I believe in live performance, also, no sequencers were used and all tracks were recorded in real-time.
