Album Notes

Greg Hyde & LivingRoom is an acoustic duo of songwriter/singers who have put together a group of songs that are easy stories and fun melodies. Their harmonies on such songs as “What’s Your Life Song” and “Doodly Toot Toot” are so silky and breezy, and the hooks in the songs get the audience joining in the fun.

Several of the songs were collaborations with other singer/songwriters - "Soften Me With Your Love" (words by Sharon Shannon, music by Greg Hyde), "What's Your Life Song" by Mary Beth Sims and Greg Hyde. "Julie Let Your Hair Down" is a collaboration between Mark Gurley ("Salinas Blues") and Greg Hyde. Most of the songs are easy listening and light, some, like American Hard Labor and Football Hero are a bit more dramatic. "You Are My Sunrise Today" is a pure love song inspired by my wife of 35 yeras. "Doodly Toot Toot" is a lullaby to sing to your "baby."

"Goldfish" was written after a friends son came back from the war and was killed at home in an accident. The melody is playful, while the words denote a sadness and loss of innocence.

The Album ends with sheer fun in "Got Myself A Rooster" which is just a screaming Folk Ballad. Hope you enjoy them.
