FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 2006 www.leannehynd.com Leanne Hynd celebrates the Autumnal Equinox by releasing ultiMATE PARAdox, her follow-up album to last year's Somewhere In Between project. Continuing to defy categorization, Leanne has created a soulfully crafted body of work which invites listeners to share a 71-minute musical ride that is poetically woven through roots, rock and imagery. As her album title, ultiMATE PARAdox, hints at, this Saskatchewan (CANADA), both rural and urban soul, singer-songwriter reveals her near-obsession with the contradictions surrounding her - on both a personal and world level. However, this fixation does not see Leanne cavorting in the company of world-weary, angst-ridden contemporary artists. Rather, she has chosen to reflect a full range of human experience, with her commitment that dark, scary, uncertain negative life moments, given voice and expressed in healthy ways, transform to mysterious, beautiful, positive life moments. And conveyed through her songs, she urges listeners to become aware, considering wise and integral choices when dealing with life's seemingly endless paradoxes. Over the course of the last several years, Leanne has proven herself capable of producing unique and meaningful compositions. At the same time, she has surrounded herself with fun-loving, brilliant musicians who successfully bring her eclectic ideas to musical fruition. "Real people delivering real music" sums up a Leanne Hynd concert or recording project. As on her previous release, Leanne has once again gathered together a core group of respected and talented veteran musicians. Similarly, Leanne and longtime collaborator, Glen Adair, are responsible for the songwriting on the album, which was recorded at Saskatoon's Audio Art Recording studio under the watchful eye of Neil Meckelborg, co-producing, engineering and mixing, with Glenn Ens, offering his mastering touch. Leanne has long refused to follow trends for their sake alone (musical or otherwise) and ultiMATE PARAdox is yet another sign that this musical troubadour is willing to expend the time, energy and money to create music on her own terms, even at the risk of missing out on mass acceptance.
