notes
This trio from New York City features Brian Lord, Mike Rogers, and Don DiPaolo. This is the new album from the band. It features seven new songs, along with "Vigilante Ballast," their album from 2005. Give a close listen to "Future Shock" and "A Thousand Years." They seem to be pointing the band in new directions.
Along with the continued focus on the lyrical content, the band added an emphasis on spotlighting the vocals. You can hear in the mix how they rise to the forefront beyond the textures behind them.
The band is starting to move and you can hear it. The energy is always there, but the eloquence is gaining ground.
"Vigilante Ballast" is also included on the CD. It's the 2005 album produced by The Hypertonics, now officially on CD. Listen to this in your car and you'll make it to where you're going 20 minutes early. If you're on a subway not even this album can help you.
Frame it through the minds of The Ramones, Captain Beefheart, Terry Riley, The Clash, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Elvis Costello, The Jam, Fugazi, et al.
