ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
ABOUT HYPNOGAJA (pronounced hip-nō-gä-zhä):

Described by Outburn magazine as "enthralling, first-rate modern rock," Apple.com as "soulful rock with a subtle electronic backdrop" and the Denver Post as music that "pushes boundaries," Hypnogaja writes and performs "melodic, sophisticated songs that cater to no trend” according to GRAMMY®-nominated songwriter Wendy Waldman (Garth Brooks, Vanessa Williams), producer of the band’s critically acclaimed album, Acoustic Sunset – Live at the Longhouse.

Winner of the 2009 Hollywood Music in Media Award for Best Alternative Artist, Hypnogaja is comprised of vocalist Jason “ShyBoy” Arnold, keyboardist Mark Nubar Donikian, guitarists Jeeve Ducornet and Abe Parker, drummer Adrian Barnardo and bassist Bryan Farrar.

Truth Decay, Hypnogaja’s new studio LP, is a concept recording hailed by Outburn as an "expertly crafted album." All thirteen songs from the project revolve around the central story of two lovers – a scientist and a spaceman – who find themselves at the center of a dramatic apocalypse. From the opening chords of the ominous rocker “Dark Star” to the retro-shuffle of the celebrity-obsessed “Worship Me (I’m On TV)” and the warm piano-driven motif of the eternally hopeful “Welcome To The Future,” Truth Decay manages to deliver an engaging science-fiction-romance-fantasy story arc without losing its vantage point on universal themes that unite us all.

The Southern California-based sextet has reached worldwide audiences through its ubiquitous presence on the Internet and by extensively touring throughout the U.S. and Canada (opening for artists such as Shinedown, Saliva, 311, Cold and many others). 2010 promises to be a noteworthy year for Hypnogaja, fueled by several new releases (including a digital single of the band’s cover of the Donna Summer classic, “On The Radio”) and an appearance at South By Southwest.

Numerous television shows, motion pictures, video games and soundtracks have featured Hypnogaja's music, including America’s Next Top Model (CW), Carrie (NBC), Cold Creek Manor (Touchstone), Dirt (F/X), FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage (Warner Bros. Interactive), Las Vegas (NBC), One Life To Live (ABC), Roswell (WB), Sex And The City (HBO), The Looking Glass Wars (Scholastic), Tru Calling (FOX), Valentine (Warner Bros.), and many others. Hypnogaja frontman, ShyBoy, is featured on two songs on the Sony soundtrack for the Capcom video game, The Devil May Cry 4.

Truth Decay is available on iTunes®, Amazon.com, CDBaby, at all Amoeba Music locations and through online retailers worldwide. For more information, please visit hypnogaja.com.

Amazing new rock band! This band is a rare find. Must check them out!
Kill Switch is one of the best albums out right now. Hard, melodic, nu metal comboed with a bit of raprock make this the ultimate album. The lead singers voice is amazing and the guitar riffs are so driving. They have great lyrics and the melodies are unparalled. I can't get these songs out of my head, especially Nothing Box and Lulliby. I bought a cd for myself and a friend off cdbaby and got this album for super cheap. It's one of the best deals around. If you are tired of hearing the same 20 songs over and over again on the radio like I am then you will find this album very refreshing. They kinda sound like Staind, Trapt, Linkin Park, Evanescence, Seether, Depswa, Metallica, 311 etc... you get the point. Great band hope to hear more from them.
Oh, and cool website and sicky music video!!!!!

The "Best" presents come in small packages
I would like to share with you all one of my favorite Christmas presents this year. You know what they say about how "the best presents come in small packages," well, this one sure did: a seven-song CD with a hidden bonus track, Kill Switch by Access Denied Music's recording artist Hypnogaja. I promised you would be hearing more about this band after they grabbed my attention performing at the Rock The Toy Box IV benefit for Toys For Tots at Paladino’s.

The CD opens with a song titled “Nothing Box,” and is short of "nothing but the best" melodic songs and soaring vocals by ShyBoy. Once again Hypnogaja has my full attention, just as they did at their recent performance. From the start you will be hypnotized by Hypnogaja, which I believe was their objective by the design of their CD packaging.

I hear influences of 3 Doors Down, maybe even Eminem. But "Need To Believe" (track #2) will leave you knowing this CD is radioworthy and one you will have to have. “Home," track 3, that’s where a little rap comes into play, holding the edge of melodic rock that keeps this CD from heading into another genre of music.

Every CD has its ballad and song #5, “The Spaceman,” is Hypnogaja's, raging with extreme vocals, then it’s back around to explosive with the song titled “Nowhere”-which keeps you wanting and a little more. The last song on this CD is “Lullaby,” an orchestra of exploding drama. A bonus track, song #8, is hidden, so don't count Hypnogaja as being over yet! It may be titled "Nothing At All," but there's no mention of it on the packaging, and my guess is that's the way they wanted to wrap this CD up, saying “Nothing At All” about the last song. Well-mastered and engineered, Kill Switch is one you should pick up, with its powerful vocals and high-quality musicianship.

Amazing Vocals
This singer is incredible. I bought the CD for the 5-dollar deal, and I am incredibly happy with my purchase. There are only 8 songs (one hidden remix at the end), but they are all very well composed and amazing. The only one I don't continuously listen to is "Spaceman" but even it has its merits.

amazing
the song "lullaby" kicks some serious ass! hell the whole album is great, why in the hell aren't these guys all over the friggin' airwaves? this is a fantastic band, without a doubt one of the best I've heard in a very long time. If it hadn't been for cd baby I wouldn't even know these guys existed. thanks cd baby!!
