ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
ABOUT HYPNOGAJA (pronounced hip-nō-gä-zhä):

Described by Outburn magazine as "enthralling, first-rate modern rock," Apple.com as "soulful rock with a subtle electronic backdrop" and the Denver Post as music that "pushes boundaries," Hypnogaja writes and performs "melodic, sophisticated songs that cater to no trend” according to GRAMMY®-nominated songwriter Wendy Waldman (Garth Brooks, Vanessa Williams), producer of the band’s critically acclaimed album, Acoustic Sunset – Live at the Longhouse.

Winner of the 2009 Hollywood Music in Media Award for Best Alternative Artist, Hypnogaja is comprised of vocalist Jason “ShyBoy” Arnold, keyboardist Mark Nubar Donikian, guitarists Jeeve Ducornet and Abe Parker, drummer Adrian Barnardo and bassist Bryan Farrar.

Truth Decay, Hypnogaja’s new studio LP, is a concept recording hailed by Outburn as an "expertly crafted album." All thirteen songs from the project revolve around the central story of two lovers – a scientist and a spaceman – who find themselves at the center of a dramatic apocalypse. From the opening chords of the ominous rocker “Dark Star” to the retro-shuffle of the celebrity-obsessed “Worship Me (I’m On TV)” and the warm piano-driven motif of the eternally hopeful “Welcome To The Future,” Truth Decay manages to deliver an engaging science-fiction-romance-fantasy story arc without losing its vantage point on universal themes that unite us all.

The Southern California-based sextet has reached worldwide audiences through its ubiquitous presence on the Internet and by extensively touring throughout the U.S. and Canada (opening for artists such as Shinedown, Saliva, 311, Cold and many others). 2010 promises to be a noteworthy year for Hypnogaja, fueled by several new releases (including a digital single of the band’s cover of the Donna Summer classic, “On The Radio”) and an appearance at South By Southwest.

Numerous television shows, motion pictures, video games and soundtracks have featured Hypnogaja's music, including America’s Next Top Model (CW), Carrie (NBC), Cold Creek Manor (Touchstone), Dirt (F/X), FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage (Warner Bros. Interactive), Las Vegas (NBC), One Life To Live (ABC), Roswell (WB), Sex And The City (HBO), The Looking Glass Wars (Scholastic), Tru Calling (FOX), Valentine (Warner Bros.), and many others. Hypnogaja frontman, ShyBoy, is featured on two songs on the Sony soundtrack for the Capcom video game, The Devil May Cry 4.

Truth Decay is available on iTunes®, Amazon.com, CDBaby, at all Amoeba Music locations and through online retailers worldwide. For more information, please visit hypnogaja.com.

The best to come along in years....
I was floored by both the lyrics and the music. I put it best on myspace..............The combination of the lyrics and the locked-tight sipmatico of their captivating sound both on stage and on disc are enough to keep you begging for more.

The best from non-major label band.
If you own all of the major label bands' CD's, you've probably heard it all and seen it all. However, this CD is unlike anything I've ever heard in any rock radio I've ever listened to. It goes from straight out, angry, intense alternative metal to powerful, soulful, great rock ballads and back again. Jason "Shy Boy" Arnold's vocals are rough around the edges, making the overall performance a one-of-a-kind artistic axonomy of great music. If you have the money, get this CD.

Hypnogaja is one of those few modern bands out today that actually relies on talent and not a couple of good singles. Their latest release, "Below Sunset," features brilliant musicianship and songs that grab you by the throat and have your undivided attention once you hit play - something they
also achieved with the previous outing, "Kill Switch." On the new album, Hypnogaja has taken an already-solid sound to a whole new level, as is evident on the lead off track and first single, "They Don't Care," a powerful, groove-laden track that showcases the talented vocal stylings of
Jason "ShyBoy" Arnold. From the adrenaline-pumping "Misery" to the haunting
beauty of "Nothing Left To Give," Hypnogaja proves that its musical repertoire is not limited to one genre or one particular musical direction.
The band¹s rendition of the Eurythmics classic, "Here Comes The Rain," is mind-blowing - they make it completely their own, taking nothing away from the original. One of the things that truly amazes me about Hypnogaja is
their chemistry as band. Along with ShyBoy, you have the powerful guitar work of Jeeve and Tim Groeschel and the solid drumming of Adrian Barnardo combined with the masterful keyboard work of Mark Nubar Donikian. Everything
comes together brilliantly, into one powerful unit. With "Below Sunset,"
Hypnogaja has once again shown why they are a force to be reckoned with.
Hypnogaja is one band that I would not hesitate in recommending to anyone who loves great music. Get your hand on this CD and experience Hypnogaja for yourself - you'll be glad you did. Hats off to the band for another job well
done!

Excellent Album
Hypnogaja's Below Sunset is a diamond among the lesser known albums in the scene of music today. This album just wreaks of the talent that exists among the members of Hypnogaja. Every song is excellent and I highly recommend this CD!

Fresh, hard and addictive!
I received this CD a week ago and listen to it over and over again, with each listen revealing a little more of this band's secrets. The hard edge grabs my attention and won't let go...

and, I can't put it down! It's taken over my iPod and my Sonos. And really, I couldn't be happier %-)
