Stonegarden Records out of Los Angeles was founded by Jeff and David Steinhart of Smart Brown Handbag and Pop Art fame in 1984. The label currently has a healthy roster of bands. Additionally, a solid foundation built upon a back-catalog has allowed for credible experience. Founded originally as a vehicle to deliver Pop Art releases, Pop Art member David Steinhart has since carried the torch not just for Smart Brown Handbag but other LA based artists with an emphasis on pop stylings. Stonegarden has released over 40 titles in it's history including the bands Too Much Joy, Walking Wounded, the Stingrays and Pop Art. Stonegarden is committed to a future of releasing the best indy pop in Los Angeles. The current roster includes: Smart Brown Handbag, Carbon, Abraham Cloud, Breakfast and Slinky. Back catalog is also available.
