Northwest folk artist Ian Byington plays the kind of songs that people tend to sing along with. His early roots included learning guitar during the civil rights movement, learning folk music during the folk movement, and learning that the words matter.
After years of singing in coffeehouses, taverns, and at rallies in New Orleans and in Oregon, Ian moved to the San Juan Islands of Washington State in the USA to settle down & raise his little family. He performs along the Pacific Coast between California and Canada, and occasionally in Alabama and Tennessee if something opens up there.

Your version of Give Yourself to Love is the best I've ever heard, besides Kate Wolf's original. I played it for my mother last week and my husband for Father's Day, and even though I couldn't get him to cry like she did, he says he loves it. My other favourite is Dark Song, probably because we used to talk on the phone a lot during the first part of our relationship. You have a fan in Canada! Hope you play here soon!

I've had this album on my cd player for the last month. I have a brother in the war and he says his favorite is Flowers in the Sand, and that he and several of his buddys have it on their iPods over there. They want to come home.
My favorite is the John Denver song. Rhymes and Reasons has always been the one I liked of all his songs.
I love this album!

I just downloaded my copy of the new album and I think I like it the best of Ian's work so far. On this one, my favs are "Give Yourself to Love," and the song he sings with Kimberly, "You Are Love." Thanks, Ian!
Cheers,
