Beautiful portrait of Canadian coasts
author: kees van wee
First episode of Ian's portrait of the Canadian coasts. He paints beautiful pictures, portraying nature and people in a moving way, abundantly using his own experience. The Birch canoe, for example, is about a little canoe that he found as a boy, whose original use he only discovered many years later, as an adult: it had been used to give a deceased child to the lake. Yes, Tamblyn sometimes does sound like Bruce Cockburn, to whom he is often compared. But his work is somewhat more subdued and less militant, even though he is sometimes worried too. "They said the trees would last forever, forever just ran out of time." He has the warmth of Richard Shindell and this cd is highly recommended.
