Album Notes

Nick Whetro is Icarus Himself. And after leaving Northern Indiana in ‘04, to relocate to Madison, Wisconsin, he started writing songs and ended up forming the group National Beekeepers Society (a sort of a slacker rock/garage pop group), of which released two albums “Self-Titled” in ‘07 and “Pawn Shop Etiquette” in ‘08.

Whetro takes the refined distortion of the National Beekeepers and combines it with his wry and quirky vocals to make basement tape beauty which has been compared to the likes of Neutral Milk Hotel, Beach Boys, and Beirut.

Past Press:

“It is the minimal nature of Icarus Himself that makes them so appealing.”-Dane101.com
