"Nothing like a little ambient to bring you back to earth after witnessing the apocalypse. Icecake belong in that group of bands such as Orange Cake Mix, Flying Saucer Attack, Amp, Flowchart, etc. They're the new generation of American space rock gods and Icecake fit rather nicely with this group. Using spatial pieces to create a great listening environment, '...an ambient experience' is a great ambient record. The piece 'Fountains,' for example, is a minimalistic yet very structured song. The song rolls with a gentle guitar riff and a beautiful flowing bass line to create a nice illusion of water (total relaxation). Sounding at times like an early Bill Nelson, Icecake manages to create mystical soundscapes without sounding too new age... the end result is a nifty ambient record that will find a nice home with anyone into the Bliss Out series or an Eno record."
