Album Notes

Idle Threats debut album, Feels So Right, is Americana borrowing from diverse genres, infusing their music with influences from mellow blues, acoustic rock, sassy swing, and slippery jazz. Feels So Right takes the listener through a range of moods from the intimate and sultry ("Cappuccino" , "I Want Me One Like That") to the hopeful and sweet ("This Feeling That We Do"). On this album, as in real life, the gritty, raw and dark ("You Know Me") live side by side with playful exuberance ("Me O My", "Soda Pop") and gentle sadness ("Pillow of Stone").

Band Bio:

Idle Threats is a four piece group featuring a former state guitar champion laying down leads, along with male and female lead vocals, and primarily acoustic instrumentation. We do not limit ourselves to a particular style, but do try to limit ourselves to doing songs we truly enjoy playing. Approximately 50% of our repertoire is original, and the rest of the material makes its way onto our set lists if one or all of us have a feeling for the song.

After playing bluegrass for a number of years, we lost our banjo player and it pointed us in a different direction. Never losing our love for bluegrass music, we nonetheless began exploring other acoustic styles, and began to focus more on songwriting. Although Karen and Tom have been writing for years, we began to try writing as a group. We found that turning life's experiences into songs is most interesting and enjoyable, and those practice sessions that are spent writing are just the best.

As is the case probably with most bands, we learned a great deal in making this first cd and look forward to putting the knowledge to good use on our next one.

When playing live shows, we most enjoy the audience members who actively listen and who take the time to visit with us after the show. We welcome correspondence from listeners, and from artists and writers as well.
