IHAB! often ties together social commentary coupled with powerful narrative to formulate the prose of their lyrics. Drawing inspiration from the compelling stories found in literature, film, and video games, songs are written with synergy between these tales and the questions that arise in navigating the 21st century world. What is humanity’s place in the universe? What is the cost of peace?
The passion and energy that trademark IHAB!’s live performance is evident at every concert. Injecting light humor in their choreography and crowd interaction between songs, they strive to entertain each and every concertgoer. Illustrated by the smiles and laughs of the audience, the live experience leaves a lasting impression.
I Have a Bomb! is comprised of five veteran musicians from the St. Louis rock scene. Adam Reynolds is influenced by a life long passion of vocal performance and conveys the heart of the music as IHAB!’s front man. Sam Lovsey is the chief musical engineer as the architect of the songs and plays the rhythm guitar section. The lead guitar and solos are written by Tom Williams who holds a deep respect for classic blues licks and guitar shredding fretwork. John Hopkins draws inspiration from modern jazz bassists and a disciplined study of music theory. Zach Sloger hails from a punk background full of fast beats and provides the source of I Have a Bomb!’s nuclear energy.
What Happened Here? is a reflection of the trajectory humankind has ventured in the name of progress, often trading acquisition and worship of the self for altruistic equality, all the while blinding itself to the inevitable ruin of such behavior leaving only questions behind. I Have a Bomb! hopes that the album will introduce their brand of “explosive rock” to the world and the songs will permeate the hearts and minds of all who choose to listen.
