Album Notes

The History of DA ACE MAN and II FAR GONE

Da Ace Man is one of the most talented producers today. He has produced numerous albums for II Far Gone, Southern Kaos, E.R.I.C., V.I.P., Da Masta, and The Master & Me. The most shocking aspect of this producer's career is that his lyrical and rhyme skills are as sharp as his production skills.

Da Ace Man has been a performer of hip hop since the age of 13. Winning numerous talent competitions throughout Mississippi earned him the honor of being a forefather of rap in Mississippi. He was the lead rapper of the group The Boyz in the Hood which earned much acclaim in Mississippi. By 1992 the group disbanded and the Ace Man Moved to IL to attend college. While working on his bachelor's degree in English, he joined the rap group II Far Gone in which he co-produced their first album. This was the first experience he ever had at producing.

II Far Gone was the first local group out of Kankakee, IL to release a full length rap album (Home town of Twista's D.J., I. C. Dre). The group opened up shows for Twista for a few years. During this time II Far Gone released two other classic underground albums. But all good things must come to an end. The group's last album was 1997's classic album "Nothing to Lose" which to this day is now a hot underground hit in Columbus, OH.

Da Ace Man soon returned to his southern roots and produced two albums for Southern Kaos and one album for E.R.I.C. Both groups Da Ace Man co-founded. All three of these albums received radio support in Mississippi as well as in Peoria, IL. Two of these albums received outstanding critiques by Murder Dog Magazine. These albums really set the stage for Da Ace Man. They built his reputation as an outstanding and respected hip hop/ rap producer.

Now living in Ohio, Da Ace Man has reunited with II FAR GONE and has recently released the album "Detestable Practices" Under his new label II.F.G. Entertainment, Inc. With his partners Da Masta, who has released two solo albums "Curse of the 7" and "NDA DArknesess", and Unkamhn, who now owns a production company, they are doing small tours and continuing to bring real lyrical content over tight beats. After listening to the songs on this albums you will not be able to deny this groups gift of spitting thought provoking yet humorous lyrics over beats that are top notch.
