Since landing in Canada in 2001, Ijah quickly found a home with the One Love band hailing from Montreal city. With his unique style of singing and positive energy that he brings to the stage each and every time. Ijah was becoming a household name in the city, opening for Tarrus Riley, Glen Washington, Barrington Levy, Mikey Dangerous to mention the bigger names. Also, featuring in a couple of “Welcome to Montreal” yearly event bringing Montreal’s talent together in a creative showcase of skill. Ijah had taken some time off of the music scene to perfect his sound only to come back in full force. In early August 2008,Ijah signed with the independent recording label DPC MOVEMENTS, who are on a coast 2 coast music movement that launched Ijah’s music from heavy local radio rotation in Montreal all the way to the U.K.(BBC RADIO),live Jamaican radio as well as hot 97 svg and even parts of the USA, considering he crosses over in music and has a big collaboration with label mate , hip hop recording artist Fatty Soprano, who is buzzing in the USA(airing in more than 12 million homes on Comcast cable 5 channels), as well as Canada, their smash hit “Sixteen” is circulating heavy in Canada and parts of the USA. Among Ijah’s highlight’s since signing with his new label includes opening for T.O.K. ,Tarrus Riley(again),Mr. Vegas, Spragga Benz, Elephant Man, Mikey Dangerous(again), Mello G. as well as getting his ladies jam “Can I” on a hot mixtape compilation circulating heavy in Jamaica.
