"L.A.'s finest since 2001", ILL AGAIN is the six-member Hip-Hop super-band currently making waves throughout the West Coast, winning fans over with their raw eclectic hip-hop live show, and now, their critically acclaimed self-titled CD. Yes, from the back packers to the gat clappers, and from the lovely birds to the ugly nerds, EVERYBODY (and their moms) loves ILL AGAIN!
Dedicated to resurrecting the era of when hip-hop meant skilled emcees spitting out spontaneous lyrics over intricate breakbeats, The award-winning Ill Again Family (Best Band "Kollaboration" at the Wilshire Ebell Theater, November 2002; and First Prize at Long Beach "Sound Providers", February 2003) is committed to mind and art elevation channeled through the six virtuoso branches of the family tree:
Drummer, Miles Senzaki;
Bassist, Jose Ramirez (of Arkestra Clandestina);
Guitarist, Dr. Daniel Ramirez;
Keyboardist/ Turntablist / Brass Section, Blue Kusaka;
Vocalist, Randall "Randruff" Park; and
Vocalist, Andrew "Ajax" Johnson.
With heavy funk, jazz, hip-hop, rock, Latin, and spoken word influences, Ill Again's positive message has been consistently heard throughout various Southern California venues for the better part of three years, most notably at Santa Monica's world-renowned Temple Bar, with the catch phrase "Tell A Friend!" hooking many a new listener into their ever-evolving musical world. "Even deaf people like us, because we're good to the eyes," says the skilled guitarist Dr. Daniel Ramirez, Hennessey in hand.
Ill Again completed its self-titled debut album in 2004- a critically and publicly acclaimed "soundtrack to the soul" which documents the beginnings of the band's sound, while giving their growing, devoted fanbase a taste of things to come. World domination? Perhaps. But for now, the Ill Again family is content with simply playing good music, and leaving masses of adoring fans in hysterics. Just take a listen...

Have been a fan for years. Just reviewing it now is a shame because I believe they are a no longer together but a handful of them are reforming as the Novelists!
Ok back to this album, one of my favorites, that I HAVE TO listen to from time to time. It's definitely a regular on my playlist. It's simply really good old school hip hop. None of the new crap you hear. And coming from someone that hardly listens to lyrics, GREAT FUN lyrics.
Everyone I've recommended listen to Ill Again has loved them. I wish there was more!!

Dick and I groove to this album
author: Dubya
This CD is dope. Dick Cheney was jamming to it after he got his last heart attack. I listen to it in my iPod when Rummy tries to give the the latest scoop on Iraq. I give it two thumbs up! In fact, it's awesome! It's so awesome that I'm gonna make up a word: awesome-olio-ography.
