Slim grew up on the West Side of Chicago. During hard times the family did like most of the poor Chicago residents. They occasionally went down to "Maxwell Street" The trip, usually on a Sunday, meant that you could catch a bargain, eat one of those famous polish sausage sandwiches and maybe catch some guys playing some good raw blues on the sidewalk. Those trips would make being poor not quite so bad.
The band has shared the stage with national recording artists such as Michael Burks, Lurrie Bell, Matthew Scholer, and Nick Moss & The Flip Tops. Slim has appeared onstage as a guest vocalist with the Carey Bell Band.
The band plays BLUES. But make no mistake about the brand of blues; this is toe tapping, hip swinging, and boogie blues, with just a sprinkling of "cry in your coffee" blues.
Astute blues fans will note that this is an evolving artist with his own ideas. This will become evident when listening to "Born Into The Blues."
Like Slim's singing and guitar playing, the originals tend to be of the meat and potatoes variety" (Living Blues Magazine)
