Album Notes

Irv LeVine is an extraordinary man. A highly decorated fighter pilot, he is a veteran of the Vietnam War where he flew a combat tour in the F-105 Thunderchief — the venerable “Thud” fighter-bomber. That’s where and when he composed and performed his first military folk songs.
He is also a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, and an animal trainer. He is a diver, both sky and SCUBA. A widely known, in-demand, entertainer, he has toured in the Far East, Europe, and in the United States. He is one of the most prolific exponents of military folk music, having written and recorded two dozen songs. This is his seventh Erosonic CD.
The Juvat Boys Choir — the JBC — was begun under the leadership of Colonel Bruce “Big Fella” MacLennan, in 1972, at Kunsan AB, Republic of Korea. It has been in continuous existence since then, a noteworthy feat since its members are on station for only one year. Young fighter pilots form the nucleus of this unique organization.
They are perhaps the boldest personification of the warrior musician. Facing the enemy across a line drawn by their forebears at the close of the Korean War hostilities, they follow daily in the traditions instituted generations ago. They sing the old songs and they write new ones, providing substance to the traditions of military folk music.
This is the JBC’s third Erosonic album.
