Album Notes

The members of Sound Impression are Tony Harriman, wife Cindy, and their three young girls: Christina, Melanie and Michelle (for occasional vocals).

At first it was hard to pin down a category for our style of music. Some people tell us we sound like the Beatles; others say we sound like Peter, Paul and Mary; others say our songs have a James Taylor feel. The truth is, our family is broad in our appreciation of music, and this spills out into the songs we write and music we compose. A while back we wrote a song called Somewhere in the Distance (not on our first album, but featured on the garageband.com website,) that included all the girls' voices; people far and wide have had a serious chuckle at this song and have described it as…, well, you'll have to check it out; just be prepared to wear a smile for a while.

Tony was raised in England, so it's likely that you'll detect an English/European flavor in most of the songs. Tony was responsible for the lyrics and melodies - and a lot of the harmonies, too. He plays acoustic guitar.

Cindy was raised in California and is the musician of the family. She plays keyboards and wind instruments.

We've only been writing and composing for a couple of years, and hopefully the best is yet to come. We sincerely hope our songs will brighten your day and give you food for thought.
