Most of the songs on this popular album were composed by Cesar Villalobos L., the founder/creative director, and range in theme from whimsical melodies about nature (“Matices”); a passionate call for justice for the oppressed (“Inti Libertad”); a tender tribute to Cesar’s own grandfather, at 113 years of age, and dedicated to all the elders (“El Abuelito”); and lively Andean dance tunes (“Baila Conmigo”) and (“Serranito”). “Inti Libertad” was the winner of a Gala Evening of Latin American Song in Milan, Italy in 2004, and was also a People’s Choice finalist in the European Music Festival the following year. “El Abuelito” was a finalist in Eurotelevision’s OTI Music Festival.

Inca Son means “Sound of the Incas.” This world acclaimed band plays the centuries-old music of the Andes of Peru, home of their Inca ancestors. In addition, Inca Son performs music from throughout Latin America, and through original, vibrant arrangements, lends an Andean flavor to well-known modern pop tunes. INCA SON is a Peruvian music and dance ensemble with numerous awards and performing credentials, including the 2007 Independent Music Award for “Best World Traditional Song” and the Boston Music Award for “Outstanding World Music Act”.
