ROOTS ROCK: The essence of Incidental Bliss is a culmination of rock & roll and blues rock with a splash of funk and reggae.

notes

"Roots Rock" - The drive of American Rock with soulful song writing and deep melodic grooves, ala the Black Crows, Led Zeppelin, and Hendrix.

Incidental Bliss officially formed in 2002 when key members Joe Barone, Todd Matteson and Rich Bellando attended Northeastern University in Boston MA. Relocating the band to New York in 2004 was a challenge that the band openly accepted, if they were going to make it in this crazy business NY would be the right place to get their feet wet. With Tommy Miller rounding out percussion, IB set forth to find a missing link which fell into the hands of Berklee grad Sean Meagher. With the addition of Sean on Hammond and Rhodes, the Sound of IB has molded into a classic rock revolution with all the best elements of the old with a fresh-faced twist on the new.

"The View Inside My Mind", the latest EP from the band was independently produced and recorded at their LI rehearsal spot. Blessed with the opportunity to use some of the finest analogue recording gear, the band aimed to capture the music in its natural form on 2-inch tape, utilizing live tracking, aggressive guitar tones, and raw vocal takes. The results were overwhelmingly pleasing, rock solid and full of depth, mastered by Brad Blackwood - Memphis TN, "The View" is a must hear, IB's finest recording effort to this day.

As the wind flows between the massive stone strongholds the thumping pulse swells into a wave that elevates the crowd to a blinding rightness of one. As a rift opens between the spaces that time was, the masses descend slowly towards earth before the brilliance that once again surrounds. These combatants of stillness are no more absolute than providence concedes, but rather emissaries, collective in spirit, with a purpose... IB

  • Mello blend of blues and funk
    author: Raimo Productions

"The View Inside My Mind" tingles with potential as it serves up a multitide of sounds. The influences are ever present in Joe's lead guitar, but the smooth, fluid, percussional accents are what really takes this CD to the next level. Done with natural artistic verve, this EP is fresh and blazingly attractive to the ear. You won't find many new bands as solid as this one.
