------------------

This CD has become an Indecision classic, and it has been our number one selling album since 1996. It was recorded in front of a sellout performance at The Chameleon Club in Atlanta, GA on May 18, 1996 using XLR (stereo) connections directly from the sound board to a Sony, Digital Analog Tape (DAT) recorder. The audio was then edited, mixed and mastered at studios in the Atlanta area - it is incredibly crisp and clear, and contains no overdubs. Music samples of this CD are located on the left-side of this page.

Live At The Chameleon Club is an excellent example of Danny McCrystal's sound engineering abilities. His meticulous attention to sound levels and filtering are readily apparent, as this Disc contains an inaudible amount of noise.

Formed in Charlottesville, VA, INDECISION is well known throughout the United States for their live performances. As a pioneer of the "Jam Bands," Indecision's creative and evocative grooves contain aspects of jazz, blues, country and extended instrumental jams.

Although it's difficult to capture their dynamic energy on stage, this CD has attempted to reproduce a portion of a live performance as accurately as possible without any overdubs. So, you may notice a couple of their mistakes, but that's what makes this disc so appealing - it's live, not dubbed-over, and hopefully, it will entice you to come out and see what everyone is talking about.

The CD is almost 70 minutes in length and contains 10 songs from the performance.

live sound engineer: Danny McCrystal
mixed: Angel Lofte Studio - Atlanta, GA
mastered: The Audio Post - Marietta, GA
manufactured: Nimbus - Ruckersville, VA
produced and designed: Duncan Freeman
publisher: Fancy Clothes Publishing - Atlanta, GA

IMHO this is their best CD!!

  • I AM BACK IN THE MINE SHAFT CELLAR
    author: MIKE ASHBY

I MET DAN McCRYSTAL IN STAUNTON, VA. BACK IN 1985. HE INVITED ME AND MY GIRLFRIEND AT THE TIME TO COME SEE INDECISION THE FOLLOWING NIGHT AT THE MINE SHAFT IN CHARLOTTESVILLE. FROM THAT NIGHT,FOR THE NEXT TEN YEARS I SAW THEM AT LEAST A HUNDRED TIMES PLAY LIVE UP AND DOWN THE EAST COAST. ALWAYS IMPRESSED WITH THEIR SOUND, I COLLECTED DOZENS OF SOUNDBOARD TAPES FROM THESE GUYS. THIS ALBUM CAPTURES THE MUSIC AND ATMOSPHERE THAT EVERYONE LOVED ABOUT THIS BAND.IF YOU LIKED THEM THEN, BUY THIS CD NOW!

  • Indecision rocks!
    author: Greg in San Fran

I recently saw Indecision for the first time in over 10 years and they were absolutely fantastic. The show inspired me to grab this cd, which captures the excitement of their live performance: a full-on jam session. The sound quality and song selection of this disc are superb. I only wish there were more to buy!!!

  • We need more of this!

I started seeing Indecision back in the late 80s when they played venues around the southeast. Would love to see some early releases from that era especially Charleston, SC. This disc captures that live sound everyone loves.

  • A "must-have" from the top jam band around.
    author: John T

This recording is crystal clear and embodies their live vibe from that time period. My only question is why they didn't release a live cd earlier. If you're on the fence, this is a "must-have" cd. This disc contains extended versions of all their best originals including- She Aint No Betty and Meet You In The Middle.

  • Live CD proves Indecision deserves a place with Jam band greats!
    author: grimer

Pleasantly suprised that Indecision still sounds as tight as they did during the many shows I saw from '86-90. Great introduction for those new to Indecision and sure to bring back a flood of good memories and good times for existing fans. I only wish it was a double CD so I could finally find a digitized version of Ib's Jazz.

As a fairly regular taper who made the rounds I can vouch that this captures the bands essence. For those who used to see them on regular bases it is better than an "Oreo" or a "Chicken in the Pot", so break out some scatch and throw down for this CD you will be pleased. For those of you who were not part of the past, you have gotten this far, so ante up and become a fan. This will be a great introduction to this band.

  • Live Music is Better, Bumper Stickers Must Be Issued!
    author: kennyv

When I saw this disc was available, it was a must purchase. If you were a college kid in the mid to late 80's in the Virginia's and Carolina's you may have had your first enlightened experience seeing Indecision live on a beautiful fall day. Those days are but a lasting memory, but the images, nostalgia and carefree attitude are fully recalled listening to this disc. These are some of the band's best original material, recorded live, and well done at that. Beats the heck out of my spent cassette from Sigma Nu in C'ville, '87 I think. For those of you who don't know this band and have a sense of adventure, take a flyer on buying this disc. It surely will not dissapoint. Allman Brothers, meets Dire Straits, meets The Band. For those of you who know Indecision, welcome back!

  • "Dick's Picks" for Indecision (Volume 1)
    author: Henry from Boulder

I used to see Indecision while I was in School at Maryland. They are one the best live bands that I've ever seen. They are not just another "jam band." While this CD doesn't have the production quality of say "An Evening With The Allman Brothers Band," you hear and feel the band's unique style and sophisticated performance, a quality that surpasses even my best bootlegs. What "Dick's Picks" is to the Grateful Dead this CD is to Indecision - a must buy. Now all Indecision needs to do is get back on the road and head West.
