notes

Established in 1998, Edinburgh based Indigoecho have travelled far in the last four years, both metaphorically and literally, cutting their teeth on a hard diet of gigging and playing. Their 1999 debut album release 'One' on the Room3records label saw the four-piece attract a lot of media attention. The launch in Virgin Megastore, Princes Street Edinburgh, kicked off a swathe of gigs throughout various venues in Scotland, England, Northern Ireland and Ireland ranging from Pubs and Clubs, to University Unions, Theatre and also Church Halls. IndigoEcho have also attracted an impressive amount of media coverage, with live broadcasts as far as London and New York, and interviews with a number of newspapers, radio shows and TV shows.

August 2001 saw the release of their first single, the double A-side, Fade Away/Coming Home. Once more this was launched to an expectant crowd at the Virgin Megastore in Edinburgh, and was to become one of the top selling CD singles that week. IndigoEcho followed the success of the launch with a Spring Tour, the band road-testing some of their new material in front of various live audiences before disappearing into the studio to write, record, edit, mix and produce their new CD, their second album, - Illuminate.

Illuminate is a great CD for people who love Rock music with distinct melodies. The tracks vary, but firmly remain in the Rock genre. What will you get from this cd? 'hold on' a radio friendly classic, 'illuminate' thought provoking and full to the brim of guitars, 'watch over me' with its laid back feel will impress you. All this plus 9 other great tracks.

  • 'A fabulous CD that I couldn't stop listening to'

One of Scotland's bravest independent labels have provided me a real treat to review. Just in case you didn't know, Edinburgh-based Indigoecho have been together for several years and this is their third full album. At first I was impressed but the second and third time I was DRAWN. This very much tells the story of the good and bad times on the journey with God with tracks such as "Watch Over Me" and "Fade Away" being particularly outstanding. A fabulous CD that I couldn't stop listening to. When you consider that it was probably recorded on a 20th of the budget of a Delirious? album, this is very impressive.
