A great fuse of two deep cultures music
author: Adaan
As a lover of both Indian classical (in particular) and Irish Folk, this album is a great inspiration to me. By mixing the two rich musical styles they really made a great fusion that stands strong on it's own. Great for relaxation, meditation and as background music for massage and body work.
Wish there will be more. Great work.

A significant contribution to Traditional Irish Music
author: John Burke
A great Cd. Something new to offer. Born in Chicago, I have been listening to Irish folk music, live and on CD, for most of my life and I had never heard anything like this. Old fashioned music, presented in a new light. Got me wondering about the ancient origins or Irish music. I guess 'Sean Nos' goes back a ways. Something haunting and ancient in the India vocal. Very touching.A great singer. The way the voice wavers a lot, like on track 5-Rights of Man-seems to bring this ancient dimension to the music and for me it works really well. Awesome CD.

Amazing blend of musical styles

I am not a big fan of 'fusion' music so I did not have great expectations for this CD. For me, when two things are 'fused' at least one side suffers and usually its both sides. Must say , with Indocelt, I was pleasantly surprised. Most of the time it sounds to me like both sides, the Irish and the Indian are playing along fine, as though they are just doing their own thing , not worried about what the other is doing. Somehow it all works. Amazing! I especially liked track 2. Moving on, which I found full of surprises.

Loved it.

I ordered this CD in order to provide incidental music at my wedding. I'm London Irish and my bride is half-English, half-Sikh so we're having a joint Irish/Indian theme. As the Chieftains never collaborated with Ravi Shankar to the best of our knowledge, this CD was perfect for our requirements.
