This is the sound of four musicians playing together in a room one rainy August in England.
Songwriter, singer and guitarist Indy Clark has recorded his finest songs with his favourite musicians: Stephen Williamson on drums and percussion, Chris Daniels on keyboards and saxophones, and Steve Laws on double bass. The result is warm, moving and real.
ABOUT 'QUIT WHILE YOU'RE ONLY SLIGHTLY BEHIND':
Jonny at The Mill Studio:
Me and Dave really enjoyed the session too, and I'm very pleased with the end result. I think we accomplished what we were aiming for - which is always a good thing!
Tommaso Starace, saxophonist with his own quartet:
I have been listening to 'Quit...' which is as
beautiful as 'When Paths Cross', and I feel as if the tunes are a little stronger and more catchy. Actually it's very groovy.
Mark Wilson of Gilberd Performing Arts:
I am sitting listening to the new album. It sounds amazing. All the classics with a full band , who sound really tight, and some amazing harmonies from Indy, with some of the new material, it's a must for everyone!
Musically and Lyrically,`It Doesn't Matter'is perfect. Have you ever been to see one of your favourite artists live and they do a song you don't own and you fall in love with it? So you search for bootlegs and old singles to see if you can find it! The first time I heard this I fell in love with it, and I am so pleased I now have a copy to listen to. I was worried I had built it up in my mind but it's even better than I remember. The sax is beautiful and complements the guitar and melody so well.
Vocals are Indy's best to date. They have an honest quality about them. I think it's the best work he has done.
