theINFORMATI is the musical collaboration between a young, progressive composer and a modern, experimental guitarist. Their first self-produced, independently released album, Requiem, is a startlingly mature example of 2 musicians far beyond their time.
Written and recorded over 18 months, they have carefully crafted a record that has instantly gained them interest from DJ Spooky, DJ Shadow, and Amon Tobin, who all received pre-released, limited edition copies featuring the artwork of British graffiti artist, Banksy.
By fusing together classical arrangements and language with modern instruments and styles, theINFORMATI have defied genre and look to leave a lasting impression on today's contemporary music.
Requiem features 60 minutes of music sung entirely in Latin while also combining psychedelic guitars, pianos, dub bass, and electronica. Currently, they are accepting publishing offers while also looking for a label to partner with, as they plan to change the current landscape of music.
Heavily inspired by British electronic acts, Radiohead and Massive Attack, TS and Mark sought out a studio that would house the proper tools necessary to create this competitive, dynamic record. The recordings took place at Sanctum Sound in Boston, where the studio's owner, Steve Catizone, served as both Engineer and Producer, bringing to life the arrangements Mark and TS had scored over the last year.
The record also features guest appearances from other rising local artists, Phillip Jamieson of Caspian and bass from former Constant's member, Ben Fowlie. Ben has since moved to Boston and joined Mark and TS full-time to create a 3 piece army.

Requiem, The Informati
author: Mary Elizabeth Nordstrom
The opening rhythm was reminiscent of the vibration experienced in a Near Death Experience back in 1977. I have listened to the entire work several additional evenings, trying to relate the rest of it to my classical sacred music experience as church musician for more than 60 years. It is a good background for meditation.
