Album Notes

Born and raised in Harlem, NY I grew up listening to old 45's of Sam Cooke, James Brown, The Temptations, The Four Tops and Jackie Wilson. Prince, Al Green, Rick James, George Clinton and Luther Vandross were my music teachers.

As a self-taught musician, I found myself wanting to play any instrument I could get my hands on...please don't ask me to play the saxophone though...:-)

It's been 3 years since my last album, "Words and Beats". In these tough times, it's important that we celebrate the good times and simply have fun once in a while. With that said, "As I Lay My Shield" is strictly for the dance floor on a Saturday night. I simply ask that you purchase the music, play it loud, dance and spread the word about Ingar Brown.

Stay Beautiful.
