Conceived in the ancient mountain village home to the Kabbalah, INGATHERING is inspired by real-life experiences from the highway offramps of North America to the Blue Hills of Jamaica to the deserts of Sinai to the Land of Israel itself. The mystical tradition of the Torah emphasizes yichudim – unifications - of which the iNGATHERING project attempts to effect on a grand scale: individual/collective, intellect/emotion, body/soul, past/future, creative/traditional, practical/visionary, introspective/inspirational. Any listener wishing to pursue the theme of World Redemption in traditional Jewish mysticism and consciously join in this ingathering can – and is encouraged to – study the source texts listed in the 16-page booklet included in the CD package for an extended course of in-depth learning. While the vast majority of sources have yet to be translated, or even taught openly,the primary intention is that the music alone has the power to inspire and unite all of us, each on his/her own spiritual level.
