Album Notes

ENGLISH:
This captivating CD showcases Peru's Inkamerica performing a lively variety of musical styles from Peru, Ecuador and Bolivia. The group's first release is a mix of traditional and original tunes. It features unique Andean instruments like the Charango (a small guitar with five double strings), Kena and Zampona (enchanting flutes and pipes of the Andes), and the Peruvian Cajon, (a box-like wooden percussion instrument) which allow us to visualize the landscape and emotion of Peru's ancestral heritage... upbeat and lively, sometimes sad and haunting, the sound is always hypnotic, inviting the listener to slip into a dreamland.

Review by WorldDiscoveries.Net:

Inkamerica's musical journey through the Andes is a traditionalist's journey, in contrast.

You can't get any more traditional than 'Condor Pasa', which opens Inkamerica with lovely deep-toned pan pipes, while other Andean classics such as 'Encuentras' receive the same precise attention to traditional details and classic renditions.
