THE INNOCENTS cut their first record on Andex
as teenagers in the creative, free atmosphere of
Hollywood in the early '60s with the then unknown
Herb Alpert producing.
They hit with their first two Indigo Records singles,
"Honest I Do" and "Gee Whiz", back to back. Both were
crossover hits on the R&B charts as well as the pop
charts. They collaborated with labelmate Kathy Young on "1000 Stars" which went to #3 in the nation and earned
a gold record. At one time they had all three songs on
the charts simultaneously. They went on to sign with
Warner Bros., Reprise and Decca.
This brand new offering includes an original song written
by Jim West, their version of a great R&B classic, a song
with a country twist and their restyling of a tune
originally done by them on Reprise Records.
They have retained their unique, hard to define sound-- tight harmonies, soulful leads, a warm, intimate feel. Their music is an expression from the heart.
THE INNOCENTS are:
Jim West/Lead and high harmony
Darron Stankey/middle harmony
Al Candelaria/low harmony

Great vocal feel and hamony with updated arrangements
author: J. Eastwood
Always a fan of this harmony group, I especially loved the
vocal sound and harmony feel they have acheived on this CD.
Instead of continuing to do the same thing they did in the
sixties, they stepped forward and updated the arrangements.
I am thrilled they are still making music (and so well!).
