The original album, just as recorded and released by Indigo Records in 1961. Great fidelity and sound with vocals way out in front. Soft and sweet 3 part harmony, the leads bursting with feeling-all done in their very own style-

Album Notes

This Indigo Records album release followed up THE INNOCENTS hits, "Honest I Do" and "Gee Whiz" which are included here. A combination of original material and other songwriter contributions, the cover songs on the album, such as Richie Valens "Donna" and Jesse Belvin's "Girl of my Dreams" are noteworthy for the unique and personal spin done by the group as they translated everything they did to their style. The harmonies with their intertwined leads entertain throughout.

During this time, Indigo Records signed the group to arrange and sing on all of Kathy Young's backup harmonies which
scored with the #3 hit "A Thousand Stars" by Kathy Young with THE INNOCENTS. On the back of the album Kathy
penned the album notes. The musicians on the album are Gene Lamar on guitar (with beautiful fill guitar on "I Believe in
You"!) Ray Pohlman on bass and Ray Price on drums-three exceptional studio musicians that worked the L.A. music
scene at the time. Also, on this track only Jim and Al are doing the song in 2 part harmony. The sessions were full of fun and high energy-alot of freedom for creativity for the musicians and for Darron (18 years old-melody), Jim (19 years old-leads, high harmony) and Al (19 years old-low harmony, lead on "Once in A While") to experiment and soar.
The album cover, listed in Michael Ochs book of 1000 of the best record covers of all time, shows the guys behind
bars with the album title "Innocently Yours" above them.

The group went on after Indigo folded to sign with Warner Bros., Decca and Reprise--but that's another story, er...
release.
