This cd contains a blend of sounds ranging from the rootsy one drop feel of "Helicopters" to the funky beat behind "Star Shine", which features a burning sax solo. Instigators music is conscious and positive in it's lyrical content, while asking some serious questions. Songwriter and bandleader Daniel Lamb relates experience to music creating classic reggae messages in songs like "Footsteps" & "Fret Not". Always a favorite track during live shows "Tend To The Kali Weed" is a tribute to herbalist everywhere. The delivery is confident and solid, starting with a medley of songs that is a preview of what's to come later on the disc. If you are a fan of Roots Reggae than Instigators "Live On KBOO" will fit perfectly into your collection.
"Instigators do indeed have a throwback sound, complete with bountiful horns in practically every song"
"..achieving a wonderfully vibrant live-band sound comparable to fellow US roots groups like Groundation, John Brown's Body and Soldiers Of Jah Army"
"the music is strong and propulsive"
"several tracks leap out and grab you"
